Fellowship
The Fellowship Commission organizes social
activities aimed at fostering fellowship among church members. The
commission seeks to make both new and long-time parishioners feel
welcome and involved in the life of St. Andrew’s by providing opportunities
for parishwide fellowship.
Activities of the commission include:
Coffee Hour
These weekly gatherings after church services provide
an opportunity for parishioners to visit with each other, as well as to
welcome newcomers into our community. Coffee Hour takes place after the
10:30am service, is presented in the Parish Hall. Volunteer
parishioners sign up to host Coffee Hour several times a year.
If you are interested in hosting a Coffee Hour
or have questions, please contact the parish office.
Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper
On Shrove Tuesday, the night
before the beginning of Lent on Ash Wednesday, the youth of St. Andrew’'s
put on a pancake supper for the parish. Mardi Gras crafts and music are
offered. All are invited to join in this celebration.
Annual Meeting Potluck
A wonderful mid-winter gathering
for our parish, this potluck is part of the parish’s
Annual Meeting, which usually takes place in late February or early March.
Parish Picnic
This celebration of the coming of summer is usually held
the last Sunday in May, after the 10:30am service. Hamburgers and
hot dogs, as well as potluck salads and desserts, are served; everyone
is invited to relax and enjoy the season which catching up with old friends
— and meeting new ones — before people begin to disperse for the
summer.
The Commission is always looking for new ideas and people interested
in turning those ideas into reality. Please contact Betty Hillsheimer if you have suggestions, ideas, questions, or interest in working with us.
Pastoral Care
The Fellowship Commission also helps keep the parish informed about the needs of the parish. We have parishioners who are willing to take food, flowers, or home communionions to anyone in need. If you are interested in this ministry please speak with The Rev. Jane Gerdsen.
