Global Ministries

St. Andrew’s remains faithful to our global outreach ministries.

Episcopal Public Policy Network: The Office of Government Relations and the Episcopal Public Policy Network, of more than 15,000 Episcopalians across the country, brings the positions of the Episcopal Church to our nation's lawmakers. We represent the social policies of the church established by the General Convention and Executive Council, including issues of international peace and justice, human rights, immigration, welfare, poverty, hunger, health care, violence, civil rights, the environment, racism and issues involving women and children.

Episcopal Relief & Development Fund: Episcopal Relief and Development responds to human suffering around the world. We provide emergency assistance after disasters, rebuild communities, and help children and families climb out of poverty.

Heifer International: Heifer's mission is to work with communities to end hunger and poverty and care for the earth. With gifts of livestock and training, we help families improve their nutrition and generate income in sustainable ways. We refer to the animals as "living loans" because in exchange for their livestock and training, families agree to give one of its animal's offspring to another family in need.

Kiva Loans: Kiva's mission is to connect people, through lending, for the sake of alleviating poverty. Kiva empowers individuals to lend to an entrepreneur across the globe. By combining microfinance with the internet, Kiva is creating a global community of people connected through lending. Since 2009, the Dayton Episcopal Deanery (includes eight Episcopal Churches) has participated in lending money. Click here to participate.

Miami Valley Episcopal Russian Network (MVERN): A unique outreach between ten Miami Valley churches and a pioneering Russion Orthodox Church. The mission of the Miami Valley Episcopal Russian Network is to foster a spiritual and personal relationship between St. Nikolas Russian Orthodox Church in Sablino, Russia, and the churches participating in MVERN.

Millennium Development Goals: The eight Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) – which range from halving extreme poverty to halting the spread of HIV/AIDS and providing universal primary education, all by the target date of 2015 – form a blueprint agreed to by all the worldís countries and all the worldís leading development institutions. They have galvanized unprecedented efforts to meet the needs of the worldís poorest. To get involved in the Episcopal Church's campaign to end poverty, click here.

Miami Valley Interfaith Dialogue: Open to all people who wish to engage in honest and sympathetic conversation about religion. Sponsored by Interfaith Ministries for Reconciliation. We welcome people from all religious traditions, or none; our discussions are informal and have proved enlightening to the participants. Please join us. Contact Norman Cary.

United Thank Offering: The Mission of the United Thank Offering is to expand the circle of thankful people. To achieve this mission, we encourage daily prayers, offerings and awareness of the abundance of God's blessings.
