Children and Youth
Children and youth are an integral part of our community here at St. Andrew’s.  We love having children in church worshipping with us and we also welcome their participation in any of our programs.

Youth Group
St. Andrew’s Youth Group is a place for youth to gather for fun and fellowship.  Our youth group is made up of a diverse and energetic group of kids.  We gather for conversation, for service projects and for fun.  Discussion is always encouraged and everyone is welcome.  To find out more about our youth group activities, contact Tracy Pair or just come to church!

Sunday School
Sunday School/Catechesis of the Good Shepherd

"Help me to come closer to God by myself"

The Catechesis of the Good Shepherd is an approach to religious education that honors the spiritual potential of the child. This program was developed by Biblical scholar, Sofia Cavalletti and modeled on Maria Montessoris principles of child development. Each week the children gather in a room prepared for them called an atrium. This specially prepared space contains many hands-on materials that the children can work with and use, such as a model altar and dioramas of Jesus life. The children also gather around a prayer table
each week to listen and talk to God.

St. Andrew’s offers this program Sunday mornings at 9:15-10:15 a.m. It is hoped that children and their parents will make a commitment to the program. Experience shows us that it is difficult for children and teachers when class sizes vary widely from week to week. New children and parents should schedule a short orientation before beginning in the atrium. For more information about Catechesis or to enroll your child in Sunday School please call The Rev. Jane Gerdsen at 937.278.7345.
